First-Time Homeowner Who Purchased Abandoned House Wins August Award Home Nod

Kayla Henderson, first time home buyer, was drawn to Southwood Park by friends and co-workers who love their life here.  She was also attracted by the walkability of the neighborhood for both herself and her huge dog, Romeo.
She bought a house that had been abandoned and was resurrected on the inside only by a flipper.  She went to work this past spring raising the curb appeal of her new home with happy house colors, a nice garden, and an inviting front porch complete with window boxes made by her father.
4709 Beaver Avenue is a success story: from a neglected foreclosure to an Award Home winner! Great job, Kayla!
