Street Tree Audit

Board members Sierah Barnhart and Christine Baron are conducting a street tree audit of our neighborhood, section by section. If your home is identified as a candidate for a street tree planting (a tree planted in the park strip in front of your home) a flyer will be left on your door. These trees are ordered from Fort Wayne Trees via the City of Fort Wayne and their cost is covered by the Association. Plantings typically take place in late fall and all we ask is that you water the tree until the ground freezes. This helps protect our investment and ensure its survival into Spring. That means that you can help contribute to our neighborhood's beautiful tree canopy at a very little cost to you! If you do not want a tree planted in your park strip, please send us a message. Otherwise, we will move forward with having your park strip assessed for planting suitability by the City of Fort Wayne’s Forestry Division.

Each tree represents a possible street tree planting location.

The first phase of this audit took place in the following areas:

  • Arlington Ave between Pettit and Pasadena

  • S. Wayne (Southbound) between Pettit and Pasadena

  • S. Wayne (Northbound) between Pettit and Pasadena

  • Tacoma (Southbound) between Pettit and Pasadena

  • Tacoma (Northbound) between Pettit and Pasadena

Up next are:

  • Beaver between Pettit and Pasadena

  • Indiana between Pettit and Pasadena

  • W. Sherwood Terrace between Tacoma and Beaver

  • Prange Drive

Be sure to check back for updates! Because we already amassing quite an extensive list, sections beyond what is listed here, will not be evaluated until 2024.

If you are interested in a street tree and your home is not in the areas listed above, reach out to us and let us know so that we can get your park strip evaluated in 2023.
