July Neighborhood Update
HOME TOUR WEATHERS STORMS
Last weekend's ARCH Home and Garden Tour was a great success! The flexibility and willingness of the owners of the tour homes to postpone for one day after the big storm on Saturday. Our friendly homeowners and volunteers gave a great impression of Southwood Park for all our guests. BIG thank yous to all our homeowners, volunteers, ARCH staff, and the association's tour chairperson, Pat Thomson!
BRANCHES DOWN?
Speaking of the storm: did you know you can drop off downed branches in the Foster Park West parking lot?
BRIGHTPOINT MEETINGS
If you are interested in learning more about the Enterprise Pointe proposal by Brightpoint in the old north campus on Rudisill, you can attend a meeting tonight (July 1), 6PM at the Summit. Brightpoint has a website with their information on the project located here: Enterprise Pointe | Brightpoint
The Association's official position on the project is this: we are not in favor of a blanket rezoning of the property from R1 to C2. We believe the property should remain R1, and operate with zoning variances.
We do not want a C2 property in the midst of the neighborhood if funding for the project does not gel. Brightpoint and Ambassador say they will ask for the property revert to R1 if funding fails. But this relies on the goodwill of Ambassador and Brightpoint to voluntarily relinquish C2 zoning that makes the property more marketable.
You can come to the meeting and decide for yourself. If you decide to contact members of City Council before the July 7th Council hearing and July 14th Zoning decision by Council, you can find their contact information here: City Council
