The Summit Hosts “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”

Shakespeare’s most famous comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will be presented on the Summit campus (formerly Taylor University) July 25th, 26th, and 27th by the theatre group Shakespeare from the Heart.

Director Alicia Drier has creatively chosen to utilize the beautiful Summit by staging the play both indoors and out.  The first act will be presented in a campus building, and then the audience will take a short walk to scenic woods at the back of the campus for the mystical, magical forest scenes. Drier has assembled a cast of some of the Fort Wayne area’s finest actors to present Shakespeare’s popular work.

While admission is free, the group traditionally names a local charity to receive audience donations.  This year’s proceeds will support the ministry of the Matthew 25 Health Clinic.

Shakespeare from the Heart, operating under the non-profit umbrella company Phoenix Productions, has been presenting the Bard’s works for the past ten summers, raising several thousand dollars for local charities.

Performances of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” are at 6 p.m. on Friday July 25th and Saturday July 26th, and 2 p.m. Sunday July 27th on the Summit campus, 1025 West Rudisill Boulevard.  Audience members are asked to bring their own portable chairs for seating.
