Thank You to Our Beautification Day Volunteers!

Thank you to the volunteers who showed up to help trim plants, trim bushes, tidy up the roundabout and plant a few hundred spring bulbs on our Fall Beautification Day yesterday! Thank you to the following folks who spent an 90 minutes outside on a gorgeous October afternoon: Mike Stone, Kathy Stone, Dave Bergeron, David Goodman, Lisa Oberlin, Pat Thomson, Eliza McCord, and Steve McCord. We planted bulbs at the roundabout, Westover Road, Pettit Avenue, Tacoma Avenue, and South Wayne Avenue. Lots of them are small bulbs, but they will really brighten the neighborhood next spring en masse.Speaking of volunteers, Friends of the Parks is looking for volunteers for the Great Tree Canopy Comeback on November 5th. It's a great way to have a lasting impact on the community with just a couple hours of your time. Here's a link to an article in today's newspaper about the event, including contact information: Volunteer to help replant trees | FortWayne.com - Fort Wayne IN.
