It's official in Indy! Nomination headed to Washington, DC

I just got a phone call from Pat Thomson and Angie Quinn in Indianapolis...The Indiana Historic Preservation Review Board approved the Southwood Park nomination to the State Register of Historic Places today! Pat and Angie were present as our case was on the agenda. The approval is now forwarded to the National Park Service for final federal review of the National Register nomination, which should take place in roughly six to eight weeks. Thanks to the people who worked to make it possible. And while we're at it, we congratulate our neighbors across the river to the west in Indian Village who also recieved the same designation. So it's official - - - you can start referring to us as HISTORIC Southwood Park Community Association.-- Steve McCord
